The version in @Thesola10 repo works great for me on Ubuntu 22.04 with Xorg. Thanks a lot everyone who worked on this,

works great with it as far as I can tell so I only bumped the version.

Does you check what all apps, started by gnome-shell don t inherit niceness etc?
That can cause problems.
